Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 3, 2025

SocksSSH ("we", "our", or "us") operates the SocksSSH mobile application (the "Service").

This page explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Service.

Information We Collect

Personal Data

We do not collect personally identifiable information unless explicitly provided by the user for support purposes (e.g. email contact).

VPN and Proxy Usage

The app provides a local SOCKS5 proxy over SSH. All traffic routed through the proxy remains on the user’s device and is tunneled securely via SSH to the user’s own server. We do not collect, monitor, log, or store any VPN or proxy traffic, including:

Connection logs (such as errors or tunnel status) are stored only locally and are never transmitted to us or any third parties.

Usage Data

We may collect anonymized data such as device type, OS version, crash logs, and general usage metrics to improve the app’s stability and performance. This data is not linked to any personal or VPN activity.

Advertising and Third-Party Services

The app uses Google AdMob to display ads. AdMob may use device identifiers (such as IDFA or GAID) to serve personalized or contextual ads in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. We request user consent where required by law (e.g. via AppTrackingTransparency).

Cookies

We do not use cookies in the mobile application. If cookies are used on our website (e.g., for analytics), users will be informed and given the option to opt out.

Use of Information

We use collected information to:

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties. Anonymized usage and crash data may be processed by trusted service providers such as Apple and Firebase to help us maintain and improve the app.

Data Security

We take reasonable security measures to protect any data we process. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
